Boise State hosts College of Idaho Saturday

WHAT'S NEXT?

The Boise State women's tennis team (4-2) will host the College of Idaho (0-4) this coming Saturday at the Appleton Tennis Center, start time is set for 12 p.m. Saturday was originally going to be a doubleheader with the University of Idaho and C of I, but the Vandals had to pull out on Monday.

Limited fans will be allowed at the Appleton Tennis Center, social distancing and face masks will be mandatory and enforced.

THE OPPONENT

College of Idaho is currently 0-4 and with two of their losses coming from division one opponents Idaho State and Dixie State. The Broncos are 7-0 in their last seven meetings with the NAIA program from down the freeway, with all seven of those wins being 7-0 sweeps.

Boise State opened the week with a 6-1 victory over Weber State Monday night in Boise. The Broncos won all three doubles matches against the Wildcats, then followed with five straight singles wins to put the match away.

The Broncos doubles attack has been lethal this season. The team has won the doubles point in five of six matches this season and has helped the team gain an edge early on in matches.

The Broncos feature two doubles pairs that have been excellent this season. The No. 2 pairing of Pauline Ernstberger and Holly Stewart are 6-0 and have not conceded more than three games to the opposing side in their matches. The No. 1 pairing of Shauna Heffernan and Joana Baptista has impressed as well, going 5-1 while conceding an average of only 2 games in their four wins.
