Broncos Drop Game Three at UNLV

3/21/2021 6:12:00 PM | Softball

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Boise State softball fell 4-0 at UNLV to close out the Mountain West Conference season opening series on Sunday. The Broncos' bats struggled against UNLV's starting pitcher who pitched a complete game and held the Blue and Orange to one hit. The loss moved Boise State to 5-12 overall and 0-3 in league play.
UNLV opened the scoring in the first inning when it was able to get one runner across the plate. The Rebels extended their lead in the fourth inning with three more runs, those proved to be the final scores of the game.

Boise State's pitchers Kiele Miller, the starter, and Hannah Bailey limited the Rebels to six hits in the contest. The Broncos were relatively sound defensively for most of the game, despite two errors — one in the first inning with the other in the fourth — both resulted in UNLV runs.

Ashlyn Adams was the lone Broncos to record a hit — a single to left center in the fourth inning — against UNLV's ace Jenny Bressler.

Boise State will be back in action next weekend when the Broncos head to Provo, Utah, for a doubleheader on Friday against BYU and a single game against Southern Utah on Saturday.
