UP NOW: Following a double-overtime tie in the opening match of the season against UNLV, the Broncos look to get on the scoreboard in a matchup of the Mountain West favorites as they face off with the San Diego State Aztecs, Sunday, March 7.

ABOUT THE AZTECS: San Diego State is led by head coach Mike Friesen who is in his 13th season at the helm of SDSU. The Aztecs opened the season with a 3-2 victory over the Nevada Wolf Pack at home.

MW PRESEASON COACHES POLL: For the second time in program history, the Broncos were selected by the conference coaches to finish the regular season with the top slot. Boise State shares the ranking with San Diego State. Both programs received 106 total points, however, the Broncos earned seven first-place votes to the Aztecs three.

New Mexico (97) earns a third-place spot with Fresno State (78) and San Jose State (74) rounding out the top five.

The Broncos opening round opponent UNLV garnered 47 points and a ninth-place finish.

SCORE BY COMMITTEE: With the loss of dominant scoring threat Raimee Sherle the Broncos will look to multiple names to fill the scoring void. However, in the Jim Thomas era, Boise State boasts a 51-1-1 record when multiple Broncos score. Likewise, the Broncos are 59-1-3 when scoring two or more goals in a game under Thomas.

KEEPING IT CLEAN: Junior Goalkeeper Sydney Smith earned her 14th career clean sheet in a 0-0 draw with UNLV to open the season. That effort moved her into a tie for four all-time in program history in shutouts. Smith is just three behind assistant coach Liz Ruiz and four back of program leader Janelle Flores at 18.
