Broncos fall to No. 20 Arizona State 4-1, then beat Utah 5-0.

BOISE, Idaho – The Bronco beach volleyball team finished its 2021 campaign by splitting two contests against Pac-12 competition at the Boise State Beach Classic, losing 5-0 to No. 20 Arizona State and beating Utah 5-0 on Saturday afternoon in Boise. In the second match against Utah, senior Kylee Johnson set the program record for career victories, collecting her 29th in a winning effort for her team.
"I thought we had a better day today, especially taking a pair from Arizona State with Rori (Chartier) and Kaylee (Mejia) winning," said head coach Allison Voigt. "I thought they came out strong and played at a high level. Then we had Utah come in, it's always great to have another Pac-12 team to battle and I thought all of our girls did a great job. I was especially happy for Sedona (Hansen) and Joey (Benson) at the end, they finally got a third set win against Utah, which was fantastic."

Senior Kylee Johnson set the program record for career wins, earning the 29th of her career as she and partner Ellie McDonald took down the Utah duo of Hannah Stahle and Macy Rideout in straight-sets 21-16, 21-10 and simultaneously clinched the season-ending win for the Blue and Orange. Fellow senior Evi Wilson capped off her collegiate career with a win as well, as she and partner Erin Martin defeated the Utah tandem of Grace Andrews and Marissa Koch 21-12, 21-17 on court one.

The last Bronco senior to get a win on the day was Sedona Hansen, as she and partner Joey Benson won in a thriller on court three.
