Boise State opened the scoring with two runs in the bottom of the second inning. Alison Seng opened the frame by reaching base when she was hit by a pitch. Then with two outs and Seng on first, Bennett sent her second home run of the year over right center to make it 2-0 Boise State.
The Broncos threatened again in the third when Ashlyn Adams reached base on a single up the middle. Bella Rocco followed Adams with a double to right center, Adams attempted to score from first but was thrown out at the plate. The inning ended with Rocco stranded on second.
After Idaho State came back to tie the game up at 2-2 in the top of the fourth, Boise State regrouped for a run in the bottom half of the inning. Seng opened with a single to left center. She then advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Ashlyn Whalen. Seng later scored when Bennett hit a sacrifice fly to left field to give the lead back to the Blue and Orange 3-2.
Boise State added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth. Seng opened the inning by being hit by a pitch for the second time in the contest. She reached second when Karlee Johnson walked. Clarissa Moreno then came in to pinch run for Seng at second base. The next batter was Bennett who hit a single up the middle to bring Moreno across the plate for the final run of the game.Â
Kiele Miller came in as a relief pitcher for Grace Kimball who earned her first start at Boise State against the Bengals. However, Miller proceeded to pick up her second win of the season while Taylor Caudill earned the save. Â
