NEXT FOR THE BRONCOS

WHAT IS NEXT: Boise State (10-14, 2-4 MW) will be in San Lose, Calif., this weekend to face the San Jose State Spartans in a three-game Mountain West series. It will start with a doubleheader on Saturday at 1:00 and 3:30 p.m. (Mountain) and conclude with a single contest on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. (MT).

SCOUTING BOISE STATE: Boise State enters the weekend at 10-14 overall and 2-4 in MW play. The Broncos are coming off a single game victory at home over Idaho State 4-2 on Tuesday, which was preceded by home opening weekend when they won a MW series 2-1 versus San Diego State. As a team Boise State hits .217 (MW 7th), has an ERA of 3.32 (MW 4th) and fielding percentage of .980 (MW 1st).

The Broncos return seven position starters and two pitchers from the 2020 campaign that saw the Broncos go 14-11. In addition, they welcomed back 13 veterans while adding two transfers and eight freshmen. Among the returners are two All-Mountain West honorees in Karlee Johnson and Alison Seng. This year's Boise State team was picked to place fourth out of nine teams in the 2021 league race.

 

ABOUT THE BRONCOS

HEAD COACH HUFFAKER: Boise State is in its third season under the guidance of Maggie Huffaker who has recorded a 60-41 overall record with the Broncos. Some of Huffaker's accomplishments at Boise State include: one NCAA Regional appearance and one NCAA regional championship appearance; two winning seasons; student-athletes have earned three NFCA All-Region honors and eight All-MW accolades. Academically, her team has earned one NFCA Academic Team Award, nine NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete accolades, 29 Academic All-MW and 20 MW Scholar-Athlete (3.5 or better cumulative GPA) honors.
 
BRONCO LEADERS: Ashlyn Adams is hitting a team-high .338 with 25 hits, eight runs and seven RBI. Bella Rocco is next hitting .267 with 16 hits, five runs and nine RBI. Kelsey Lalor is hitting a .225 with 16 hits, eight runs, team-best six home runs and 11 RBI. Hannah Bailey leads the pitching staff with a 2.05 ERA (MW 2nd) and 40 strikeouts, while Sara Johnson has a 3.11 ERA and 49 strikeouts.  

MULTIPLE HITS: Ashlyn Adams leads the Broncos with eight multiple hits games this season, followed by Alison Seng with five and Kelsey Lalor with four.

HITTING STREAKS: Jordyn Hutchins has the longest-active hitting streak of six consecutive games. Ashlyn Adams has the longest this season at seven which ended versus BYU. 

ACTIVE REACHED BASE STREAKS: Jordyn Hutchins leads the team with the longest-active reached base streak of six games, followed by Karlee Johnson at three. Ashlyn Adams has the longest streak this season which ended at 14 versus San Diego State.  

MULTIPLE-BASE HITS: To date Boise State has recorded 37 multiple-base hits, led by Kelsey Lalor with seven, which includes one double and six homers. Jordyn Hutchins is next with six on two doubles and four home runs, Ashlyn Adams (4 doubles) and Autumn Bennett (three doubles and one home run) have four each.
