O’Brien, Schoffield Prepare for National Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – Boise State track and field makes its third and final trip to Oregon this season, this time for the NCAA National Championships at Hayward Field.
Graduate student Clare O'Brien will be making her third-career appearance at the event and first since 2018. She will be attempting to double in the 5,000-meter and 10,000m at the NCAAs for the first time in her career. O'Brien earned her spots in Eugene with 10th and 12th in the 10,000 and the 5,000m, respectively.
Kristie Schoffield makes her third-career appearance at the NCAA Championships all in the 800m. She qualified as the fastest time qualifier in the west region with a time of 2:05.06, her fastest mark of the year. In 2018, Schoffield finished 21st as a freshman in the 800m. She made a huge jump in 2019 to earn All-American First Team honors with a sixth-place finish.
LOGISTICS
The national championship will be held at Hayward Field, June 9-12. The men and women will be competing on offsetting days, with the men competing on Wednesday and Friday, and the women competing on Thursday and Saturday.
FOLLOW ALONG
The championships will be broadcast through the ESPN Family of Networks all four days. Thursday's running events will be aired on ESPN2 beginning at 4:30 p.m. MT, and on ESPN3 at 8 p.m. MT. Saturday's final events will be aired at 4 p.m. MT on ESPNU. The broadcast is also available online with a paid ESPN+ subscription.
