Boise State opened the contest against UCI on fire hitting an impressive .571 percent as the Broncos raced to a 25-14 win. They let up a little in the second and third sets as they struggled to hit the ball, which allowed the Anteaters to rally and edge out the Blue and Orange by two points in the second period.
The Broncos regrouped for set three and slowly pulled away down the stretch for a five-point win, then followed by hitting .500 percent in set four to take it by seven points and clinch the match over UCI 25-14, 23-25, 25-20, 25-18.
Ohlinger led the Broncos with 18 kills while hitting .295, in addition, she had three service aces, nine digs and two block assists for a team-best 22 points.
Makayla Hansen followed by hitting a team-high .440 for 14 kills to go with one service ace, nine digs, two block assists and 16.0 points.
Shae Duffy came on strong in the final two sets to record 10 kills with a team-high (tied) four service aces to finish with 14.0 points.
Alli O'Harra hit a solid .385 percent for seven kills and added four service aces, four digs and team-high three blocks for 12.5 points.
The win moved the Broncos to 4-1 overall with a final match remaining at the UCI/Adidas Invitational Saturday morning at 11 a.m. (MT) versus George Mason (2-1) from the Atlantic 10 Conference.
