10/27/2022 7:26:00 PM | Women's Soccer
LOGAN, Utah – Boise State women's soccer was dealt a 2-0 loss by Utah State in the final match of the regular season, Thursday evening in Logan.
The Aggies found a goal in the first minute as Sammie Murdock lofted a ball over the Bronco keeper from outside the box. Boise State generated a handful of its own chances in the remainder of the opening period, but three saves from the Utah State keeper had the Broncos down at the break.
Boise State opened the second half with purpose on the attack but were unable to find the equalizer. In the 54th minute the Aggies used a counter-attacking opportunity to score a second goal and extend the lead. Utah State extinguished the remaining scoring chances the Broncos presented to close out the match.
Boise State will be eliminated from participation in the Mountain West tournament should Colorado College win or tie Thursday against Air Force. Should the Tigers lose, the final position in the tournament would be determined via tiebreaker.
