Caden Moortgat clinched win with a straight-set victory at No. 3 singles.

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State men's tennis rolled past the Seattle U Redhawks 4-0 Sunday morning in Boise to claim its first home victory of the season. Caden Moortgat brought home the win when he clinched it at No. 3 singles sweeping past Mats Krause 7-5, 6-3. The win was the first of the season at home for Boise State who improved to 3-4 overall.

"Overall, I thought it was a pretty good match for me today," said Jesse Haas. "I was a little bit nervous at first as it was my first start this season. I just had the idea in mind that I just wanted to compete hard for the guys and the team. As for the team, I thought everyone competed really well on every court, they kept the energy high and that was enough to get the win today."

Boise State jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the team score with doubles victories on courts two and three, respectively, to claim the valuable team point. Simon Arca Costas and Moortgat easily dispatched Seattle U's duo of Mats Krause and Filip Stipic by the score of 6-0 on court two to give the Blue and Orange an early lead.

Pedro Liborio and James Van Herzeele claimed the doubles team point for Boise State when they downed Oliver Hall and Jayden Harrison 6-2 at the No. 3 position. The Broncos may have made it a clean sweep in doubles with the top tandem of Jesse Haas and Jan Lucca Marquardt leading 5-3 when their match was abandoned.

Boise State extended its 1-0 advantage to 2-0 following Marqaurdt's quick straight-set victory on court five where he put away Harrison 6-2, 6-1. The win was the second of the weekend for the junior from Germany.

Haas pulled the Broncos to within one of victory when he cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 victory beating Lars Schmassmann at No. 6 singles.

That setup Moortgat's match clinching point on court three. The remaining three singles contests were abandoned once the team victory was settled.
