
Nevada Edges Men’s Tennis 4-3 in MW Opener

BOISE, Idaho - Boise State men's tennis came up short Friday afternoon in Boise, 4-3 to Nevada in both teams' Mountain West Conference opener. The match went down to the final singles contest of the day before the Wolf Pack pulled out the win.
The Broncos moved to 11-7 overall and 0-1 in the league, while Nevada improved to 13-6 and 1-0.
Nevada took the early lead by winning the doubles point 2-0 with victories on courts two and three, respectively, by 6-4 scores.
Boise State took the lead at 3-2 by winning three of the first four singles contests. On court two, Simon Arca Costas brought in the first win in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, his 69th career victory.
After Nevada had regained the lead at 2-1, Ryo Minakata tied the score when he defeated Daniel Dudockin 6-4, 6-2 at No. 5 singles.
Pedro Liborio gave Boise State the lead at 3-2 after he dispatched Matheo Coupu 6-4, 6-4 on court one.
Unfortunately, the Blue and Orange could not close it out as the Wolf Pack rallied, claiming the final two singles matches, 7-5, 7-5 on court three and 5-7, 7-6, 6-1 at the no. 4 position.
Boise State will be back in action Sunday at 11 a.m. when it hosts the UNLV Rebels at the Appleton Tennis Center.
