FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Alison Seng blasted a two-run home run in the sixth inning to snap a tie and give Boise State a 6-4 victory at Colorado State in the opener of a three-game Mountain West softball series, Thursday.
Seng's homer came two batters after Kelsey Hall led off the inning with her team-leading 13th round tripper of the season and raised Boise State's single-season record to 71.
The Broncos (38-10, 17-5 MW) won their 10th-straight game. Boise State won for the third time this season when trailing after five innings.
Boise State built a 3-0 lead on a sacrifice fly by Alycia Flores in the first inning and a two-run home run by Abby Bumcrot in the second.
The Rams (18-26, 9-13) hit three home runs in the fifth to take a 4-3 lead. After giving up the go-ahead dinger to the first batter she faced in relief, Sara Johnson (9-2) recorded the final eight outs, including striking out the side in the seventh to earn the victory.
The series continues at 4 p.m., Friday.
