Broncos Extend Winning Streak to Nine Games

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State knocked off New Mexico 7-2, Sunday to complete a three-game sweep and extend its winning streak to nine games.
The Broncos (37-10, 16-5 MW) swept a three-game series for the sixth time overall and fifth in conference, both school records.
Eliyah Flores started the scoring with a two-run home run in the bottom of the first. After New Mexico (25-25, 5-16) tied the game in the second, Boise State took a 5-2 lead with a three-run third inning.
A pair of walks and a passed ball opened the inning and Kelsey Lalor put the Broncos on top with an RBI-single. With one out, Lalor stole second. Alycia Flores followed with a sacrifice fly and Alison Seng capped the rally with a run-scoring single.
Boise State tacked on two runs in fifth on two walks, a New Mexico error and an RBI-ground out.
Sara Johnson (8-2) went 4 1/3 innings to earn the victory. Taylor Caudill and Hannah Bailey combined to record the final eight outs.
The Broncos open a three-game series at Colorado State, Thursday. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
