ITA Honors Bronco Tennis Programs for Academics

TEMPE, Ariz. – Both Boise State tennis programs have been recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for academic success during the 2021-22 school year, the organization announced this week.

Both the men's and women's teams were named 2022 ITA All-Academic Teams for achieving a 3.2 or better cumulative GPA over the past academic year. For the women's program – who posted a program-record 3.82 cumulative GPA following the spring term – this marks the 16th time in the last 17 years they have been honored. The men's team was one of only four Mountain West men's tennis programs to be named.

"These awards continue to be an incredible accomplishment for our programs," said director of tennis Beck Roghaar. "It's a testament to the hard work our student-athletes invest into their futures and their commitment to being successful in all they set out to take on. The young men and women in our programs are incredible people first and foremost, and to see them accomplish at this level and weave those standards into the fabric of our programs is just incredible. They continue to raise the bar and make their mark in this program in wonderful ways."

The Broncos had 12 student-athletes – eight from the women's team and four from the men's – also earn individual scholar-athlete honors for achieving a GPA of 3.5 or better:

"What I love most about our student-athletes accomplishing this is the fact it takes everyone on the team truly committing to excellence every day," said Roghaar. "Everyone clearly pulled their own weight on this one. The discipline, work, effort, and process-focus it takes to achieve that is something that is going to serve our student-athletes so well in their futures on and off the court. This is a special group, and the best is still yet to come!"
