
Broncos Secure Seven Top-20 Finishes in Season Opener

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Boise State cross country opened the 2022 season with a statement, earning seven top-20 finishes at the Joe Piane-Notre Dame Invitational, Friday. The women's and men's blue squads finished in ninth and 10th, respectively. The women's and men's open groups both came in second.
In the women's blue 5k, sophomore Yasmin Marghini led Boise State, just ahead of her teammates Autumn Ost and Delaney Griffin, who all placed in the top 50. Sophomore Oakley Olson led the Broncos in the women's open 5k with a seventh-place finish.
On the men's side, Senior Jonathan Shields and sophomore Ahmed Ibrahim were the first Broncos across the finish line in the men's blue 5 mile, finishing in the top 20. In the men's open 5 mile, sophomore Brogan Giffin led Boise State with a third-place finish.
