Two Bronco Pairs Reach Championship at Relentless Collegiate Challenge

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. – Two Bronco duos reached the championship match of their respective brackets at the Relentless Collegiate Challenge, Sunday.

Marlayna Bullington and Lily Patock finished second in the Copper Playoffs of the AVCA Bid Division. The duo won two matches on Sunday, including a semifinal victory over teammates Emilia Guerra-Acuña and Sierra Land before dropping the championship match to Stephanie Rondon and Abby Russell (Arizona).

Summer McCann and Abbie Wolf also finished second in their bracket after earning a bye in the first round of the Gold Playoffs of the A Division. The duo won their first two matches on Sunday to earn a spot in the championship match, falling 21-12, 21-16 to Ellie Davis and Liv Johnson (Loyola Marymount).

In the AA Division, Mya Jackson and Aris Vetter made it to the semifinals of the Silver Playoffs before falling to Kate Fitzgerald and Rylie Kael (Arizona State) in a thrilling 31-29, 15-21, 20-18 match. Makayla Dimond and Sharli O'Neil also had a successful playoff run, dropping a match to Lauren Cook and Aubrey Roberts (Pepperdine) 21-16, 21-19 in the semifinals of the Silver Playoffs in the A Division.

What's Next

Boise State will conclude its fall season next weekend with two concurrent events. Bullington and Patock will represent the Broncos at the AVCA Collegiate Beach Championships, Nov. 3-5, in Huntsville, Ala. The remainder of the team will compete at the Lopes Invitational, which begins Nov. 4 in Phoenix, Ariz.
