BOISE, Idaho - Shawn Garus, Boise State's Head Volleyball Coach, announced Wednesday the signing of four high school standouts for the 2024 campaign. The four newest Broncos include Addy Benefield (Irvine, Calif.), Eliza Sharp (Burlingame, Calif.), Katelyn Van Kirk (Bozeman, Mont.) and Lilli Etter (Spokane, Wash.).Â
"I am thrilled with the talent in this class," said Garus. "They will play at a high level and be great representatives of the volleyball program in the community. I am very excited to see what they can achieve."
Most of the four recruits' senior seasons are still in progress, with season honors yet to be announced.Â

Addy BenefieldÂ
Benefield comes to Boise State from Redondo Union High School in Redondo, Calif. The two-year starter for the Sea Hawks varsity team has led RUHS to back-to-back CIF Southern Section semifinal appearances and two trips to the state tournament. As a junior, she recorded 135 kills, 14 service aces, 40 blocks and 78 digs. So far as a senior, Benefield has tallied 262 kills, 17 aces, 33 blocks and 104 digs. She plays club ball for Surfside Volleyball Club of Torrance, Calif., where she helped the team to the National Tournament in the USA Division.
Coach Garus on Benefield, "Addy is a high flyer with amazing potential. She will have another high-level club season and be ready to roll next fall."
 Â
Benefield is a native of Vancouver, British Columbia, who moved to Southern California for improved volleyball competition and a chance to earn a Division One college scholarship. She will join her older brother, Ty Benefield, at Boise State, where he is a freshman on the football team. Â

Lilli Etter
Etter is currently a senior at Gonzaga Prep in Spokane, Wash., where she is a four-year starter at setter/outside hitter on the varsity team. The 2023 AVCA All-American Honorable Mention, 2022 honorable-mention all-state and four-time All-Greater Spokane League honoree -- three on the first team -- has helped lead the Bullpups to back-to-back 4A state tournaments. G-Prep will be playing in the district final on Thursday for a berth to a third state tournament.Â
Garus on Etter, "Lilli can do it all on the volleyball court. I see her as an elite setter who can serve, defend, and lead her team."Â
So far as a senior, Etter has recorded 124 kills, 266 assists, 33 service aces, 30 blocks and 184 digs. As a junior, she tallied 256 kills, 107 assists, 36 service aces, 29 blocks and 203 digs. She plays club ball for CPA Volleyball of Spokane. Â

Eliza Sharp
Sharp comes to Boise State from Burlingame, Calif., where she played two seasons for Burlingame High School. She was a member of the varsity squad, where she started at middle blocker and right-side hitter. As a junior she recorded 98 kills, six service aces, 37 blocks and 10 digs.Â
She was the only freshman to play on the school's varsity team in 2019. She played club for the Rage Westside of Belmont, Calif.
Garus' thoughts on Sharp, "Eliza has the size and speed we look for in a middle blocker. I love how fast and aggressive she is attacking off one foot. She will be the next great Boise State middle."

Katelyn Van KirkÂ
Van Kirk is a senior at Manhattan Christian High School in Manhattan, Mont., where she is a four-year starter at outside hitter for the Eagles' varsity team. After leading MCHS to three Montana Class C State Championships and four consecutive league titles, Van Kirk is a four-time all-state and all-conference honoree. The three-time volleyball team captain is also a standout on the MCHS basketball team. She plays club ball for the Empire Volleyball Club of Bozeman, Mont.Â
Garus on Van Kirk, "Katelyn has the skills to play college volleyball right now. We are excited to have her enrolling early to train with us this spring. I look for her to make an immediate impact." Â
Van Kirk is the younger sister of current Bronco Kiersten Van Kirk and the daughter of former Boise State basketball players Ken Van Kirk (1995-98) and Holly (McMaster) Van Kirk (1994-96).
