Men's Basketball Closes 2023 with Utah Valley

WHAT'S NEXT: Boise State men's basketball returns home for the holiday break to host Utah Valley, Friday, Dec. 29, at 7 p.m. The game will be televised by KTVB's main channel and streamed on the Mountain West Network. Bob Behler and Abe Jackson will carry the game on the radio at 670 KBOI AM.

LAST TIME OUT: The Broncos had a chance at the game-tying 3-pointer with 19.5 seconds remaining, but fell in a 66-61 contest against Washington State in Spokane, Wash. The win is the first in the most-recent three-game series between the two schools which started in 2021.

SERIES HISTORY: Boise State leads the all-time series against Utah Valley, 6-1. Five of the six Bronco victories have come by double-digits, and Boise State has a margin of victory by 13 points in the six victories in the all-time series.

FINDING HIS GROOVE: Junior forward O'Mar Stanley had a career-night against the Cougars. He scored a career-high 23 points to go along with six rebounds and a career-high three blocks. He is one of three Broncos in the Leon Rice era to post that stat line – he joins Abu Kigab (vs. Prairie View A&M) and Ryan Watkins (vs. Air Force) to have those numbers.

HOME SWEET HOME: ExtraMile Arena has seen 20-consecutive home victories by Boise State, dating back to a Nov. 26, 2022 victory over Utah Valley at home. The home win streak is the longest in program history and the second-longest active streak in the country.

2nd: Boise State's 20-game home win streak is the second-longest active streak in the country. Only Oral Roberts (21) has a longer home win streak than the Broncos. A win on Friday would tie the two programs for the longest active home win streak, with the Golden Eagles not having a home game until Jan. 6.
T-4th: The aggressive scheduling of the Broncos is reflected in the NET rankings. Boise State's average opponent NET ranking of 104 is tied for fourth nationally with North Carolina. The three teams ahead of the Broncos are: Florida A&M (78), Purdue (90) and Arizona (102).
1st: According to a national survey conducted by Boise State, senior guard Chibuzo Agbo leads the nation in successful four-point plays. Agbo has connected on six four-point plays this season – he had four, four-point plays in 2022-23.
