12/29/2023 9:37:00 PM | Men's Basketball
BOISE, Idaho – A pair of Broncos surpassed the 1,000 career points threshold in a 85-63 win over Utah Valley. The win is the 21st-consecutive home win for Boise State which ties Oral Roberts for the longest active streak nationally.
Max Rice hit a 3-pointer with 3:20 remaining in the first half to become the 33rd 1,000-point scorer in program history, while junior Tyson Degenhart was credited with a made-basket on a goaltending call to surpass the threshold.
The Broncos (9-4) overcame 15 turnovers by limiting the opposition to only 10 points off turnovers to end 2023 with a win. Utah Valley (6-7) led for 2:55 early in the game, but a Rice 3-pointer, an And-1 from Andrew Meadow and back-to-back buckets from Cam Martin kickstarted a dominant stretch in the first half.
A 9-0 run from 6:20 to 4:33 put Boise State up by 17 and in control of much of the game.
