Broncos Return Home for North Texas
12/4/2023 3:43:00 PM | Men's Basketball
WHAT'S NEXT: Boise State men's basketball will play its first home game in 23 days, Tuesday, against North Texas. Tipoff against the Mean Green is at 7 p.m. with the game being televised by KTVB's 7.2 channel and the station's digital platforms, and streamed on the Mountain West Network.
LAST TIME OUT: The Broncos jumped to an 11-0 lead and held off a late rally to defeat Saint Mary's 63-60, Dec. 1 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Tyson Degenhart led the way with 17 points and five assists as Boise State improved to 16-4 against teams from the WCC under head coach Leon Rice.
INITIAL NET RANKINGS: Despite checking in at No. 123 in the initial NET rankings, all three of Boise State's losses have come in Quad 1 & 2 games. The Broncos average opponent NET ranking is the fourth-highest in the country – the combined record of the three schools ahead is 0-17.
EXTRAMILE MADNESS: Boise State enters Tuesday's game riding a 16-game home win streak. That is tied for the sixth-longest active home win streak in the country. A win Tuesday would match the previous longest streak of 17 (Jan. 13, 2015 to Jan. 9, 2016). The longest home win streak in program history is 19-straight from March 2, 1997 to Jan. 17, 1999.
DIFFICULT STRETCH: Tuesday concludes a stretch of seven-straight games against opponents ranked in KenPom's top 102. Only VCU (102) ranks outside of the top 80 of Boise State's opening schedule – not including the Non-Division I game against Vanguard, which does not count toward the NET.
