SAN DIEGO – Boise State won a pair of games at the Torero Classic, hosted by San Diego, Friday.

The Broncos (4-4) recorded an 8-0 victory against Wichita State (5-3) and won their third-straight run-rule win 11-3 against San Diego (1-8).

The Broncos recorded their second-straight mercy rule win in the first game of the day, routing the Shockers in six innings.

Alycia Flores got the Broncos on the board in the bottom of the first, knocking a run-scoring double. The Broncos proceeded to score seven in the final three innings, with Flores crushing a three-run home run to record the run-rule victory.

Taylor Caudill (1-1) registered the three-hit shutout for the Broncos with seven strikeouts.

Against San Diego, Eliyah Flores homered to left field on the first pitch of the game. The Toreros responded with a run in the home half of the inning, tying the game. The Broncos collected 10 more runs, with a grand slam from Jordyn Hutchins in the top of the fourth, to put San Diego away.

Lindsey Walljasper (3-1) collected the win in the circle against San Diego, going the first-four innings of the five-inning game.

"Today was a lot of fun, the team played as one, we were very deep as a unit," said head coach Justin Shults.
"Jordyn Hutchins had a huge day at the plate in both games," said Shults. "To come off the bench in the first game and set the tone for us, carrying it over into the second game and Autumn Bennett offensively in the nine hole was huge for us."
"To get a quality start in that Wichita State game from Taylor [Caudill] and hold that team to no runs was really impressive," said Shults.
