Ford Boise State Student-Athlete of the Week Claimed by Potter

BOISE, Idaho – Ned Potter, a junior of the Boise State men's cross country team, has been named the Ford Boise State Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of August 30-September 5.

In Potter's debut as a Bronco, he traversed the 8-kilometer course in 24:09.1, finishing in first at the USF Cross Country Invitational in San Francisco, Calif., Sept. 1. 

The junior's performance led his team to victory over nationally-ranked Stanford, as the Broncos registered 21 points, just six shy of a perfect score of 15.

Following Potter's win, he was named Mountain West Cross Country Athlete of the Week, the first in his Boise State career.

The Broncos will travel to Falcon Heights, Minn., Sept. 22, for the Roy Griak Invitational next. The Nuttycombe Wisconsin invitational follows on Oct. 13, before Boise State hosts the MW Cross Country Championships, Oct. 27.
