COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State women's soccer swept the Mountain West Player of the Week accolades, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Â
Carly Cross and Genevieve Crenshaw were named MW Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, while Jillian Anderson earned MW Freshman of the Week.
Â
The three Broncos picked up their weekly awards as they helped lead Boise State to two wins over the weekend, clinching at least a share of the MW regular season championship. The team is also guaranteed a first-round bye in the conference tournament, Nov. 3-9.
Â
Cross posted two goals for four points, one in the 2-0 victory over Nevada and another in the 2-0 win over UNLV. She scored the game-winner in the 48th minute against the Wolf Pack, marking her fifth of the season. This is the forward's first honor of the season and second of her career.
Â
Crenshaw picked up her second-consecutive MW weekly award of the season and sixth of her career. She played the full 90 minutes in both matches this weekend, recording shutouts over Nevada and UNLV with nine saves.
Â
Anderson earned her third weekly honor after recording 82 minutes of action over two starts. She notched three assists for three points over the weekend, marking just the second time this season that a Bronco had a multi-assist match. Anderson now has eight assists on the season and is tied for the most in a single season in program history.
Â
Boise State will travel to Logan, Utah, to close out the regular season against Utah State on Thursday, Oct. 31 at 3 p.m. MT. A win or tie would give the team the MW regular season championship outright.
