Three Pairs Undefeated Following First Day of Home Tournament

BOISE, Idaho – Three Boise State beach volleyball pairs finished undefeated following the first day of competition at the third annual City of Trees Classic.

Anika Christensen and Nora Hayd won both of their matches in the Bronze division, taking down Oregon's Katrena Koellner and Valerie Peterson (21-18, 21-18) to start the day before defeating Azure McOmber and Keira Sheehan of Utah (24-22, 21-16)

Charlee Ellena and Emilia Guerra-Acuña won its only match of the day, winning 21-16, 21-12 over Hanna Njornson/Dahila McAllister (Oregon). Angelena Greene and Aris Vetter also won its sole contest, defeating Macy Furtwangler and Elizabeth Rossi of Oregon in a thrilling three-setter (21-12, 20-22, 15-10).

Lily Patock and Elli Wolthuis won three of the four sets the duo played, while Avery Bowidowicz and Summer McCann won two of the three sets they competed in.

What's Next
The squad will wrap up the two-day tournament on Sunday, with competition beginning at 8 a.m. at the Boise State Beach Volleyball Complex.
