BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Boise State men's tennis wrapped up two weeks of road trips to the Midwest Sunday afternoon with a 4-1 defeat at Indiana.

Boise State's Sam Sippel and Jip van Assendelft won the first doubles match of the day by a 6-4 score on court one. Then, after Indiana tied the doubles score at 1-1, the Hoosiers went on to take the team point with a tiebreaker victory on court two by a 7-6(4) score.

Sippel pulled the Broncos even when he cruised past Facundo Yunis in straight sets at No. 1 singles 6-3, 6-2.

Indiana went on to claim the team victory with three consecutive singles victories on courts three, two and six.

On court four, Jan Lucca Marquardt had battled back from 4-1 down in the third set to pull even at 5-5 when the match was abandoned.

Notables

Sippel joined the 10-win club with his victory on court one to improve to 10-6 overall and 3-1 at No. 1 singles.
The loss moved the Broncos to 3-3 on the year, with all three defeats coming at the hands of the Big Ten Conference.
The Broncos are now even in the all-time series with IU at 1-1.

What's Next

Boise State returns home this week to host Cal Poly and Eastern Washington in a doubleheader on Feb. 10 at the Boas Indoor Tennis Center.
