Caudill Sets Strikeout Record Against Third-Ranked Georgia

STANFORD, Calif. – Boise State dropped a 4-1 decision to No. 3 Georgia at the DeMarini Invitational, Friday.

Georgia (15-1) scored a pair of unearned runs in the third off Boise State (11-7) starter Taylor Caudill (6-5). An inning earlier, Caudill recorded her third strikeout in the game and set the Boise State career record at 433.

The Bulldogs added a run in the fourth off Caudill and another in the fifth against reliever Jenna Bloom to extend their lead to 4-0.

The Broncos' only run came in the bottom of the fifth when Sophia Knight walked with two outs and raced home on a double by Mykenzie Hanna.

Friday's second game against No. 7 Stanford saw the Cardinal explode for eight runs in the bottom of the third. In the top of the fourth, the game was suspended due to rain and is scheduled to resume, Saturday at 11 a.m. MT.
