Shields Adds Mississippi Transfer Carson Baker

BOISE, Idaho – Luke Shields, Boise State Men's Tennis Head Coach, announced Thursday the addition of Carson Baker for the 2024-25 season. The native of Charleston, S.C., is transferring to Boise State from the University of Mississippi, where he played his freshman season.
 
At Ole Miss, Baker went 8-10 in singles and 13-8 in doubles during the spring dual season. In singles play, he featured primarily on court six. He had the most impact in doubles, where he split time between the No. 2 and 3 positions. Baker played the entire spring campaign paired with Hallquist Lithen in doubles going 7-6 on court two and 6-2 at the third position.
 
Prior to Ole Miss, he was a highly-ranked junior player, reaching the USTA's No. 1 position for both singles and doubles in the 14U age group and was in the top 10 for the 16Us in both.
 
Internationally, he was ranked as high as No. 254 in the International Tennis Federation's (ITF) junior rankings. He racked up a 36-20 singles record and an 18-16 doubles record in ITF tournaments. Baker won the ITF J100 doubles championship in Costa Rica and the ITF J60 singles title.
