Broncos Head to New Mexico, Return Home for Fresno State

WHAT'S NEXT:Â Boise State women's basketball will have a quick turnaround over the next few days. The Broncos (15-10, 5-7 Mountain West) will first head to Albuquerque, N.M., to face New Mexico on Thursday, Feb. 13, for a 7 p.m. MT tipoff. The Blue and Orange will then return to the Treasure Valley to host Fresno State at 1 p.m. MT on Saturday, Feb. 15. Both games will be broadcast on the MW Network and 670 KBOI AM.
WHAT'S AT STAKE:Â The Lobos (13-12. 6-6 MW) enter the contest tied for fifth place and hold a one-game lead in the league standings over the Broncos. Both teams enter the contest on losing skid - Boise State enters on a three-game losing streak while New Mexico is currently on a five-game skid after starting league play 6-1. Boise State has won its last four matchups against the Lobos.
SCOUTING THE LOBOS:Â This is the second time this season the two teams have met, with Boise State picking up an 89-80 win against New Mexico on Jan. 28. Destine Hooks leads the Lobos with 16.5 points per game, while Vianè Cumber is the main shooting threat for the Lobos. Cumber averages 15.8 points per contest while leading the league in 3-pointers (67), three-pointers per game (2.7) and free throw percentage (92.9%).
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS:Â The Bulldogs (16-9, 7-5 MW) previously defeated the Broncos, 68-62, behind a 30-point, 10-rebound performance from Mia Jacobs on Jan. 11. Jacobs, who ranks third-nationally with 16 double-doubles on the season, is second in the league in both points (18.8) and rebounds (10.0) per game.
SATURDAY RECOGNITION: Prior to the contest against Fresno State on Saturday, the program will publicly recognize several players that accomplished significant milestones. Abby Muse will be honored as the Broncos' all-time career rebound leader, while Muse, Elodie Lalotte and Natalie Pasco will be showcased for eclipsing 1,000 career points.
JUNIOR CLASS DOMINANCE:Â The Broncos' junior class of Dani Bayes, Mya Hansen, Pasco and Tatum Thompson account for 72.1% of the team's scoring in conference play. Pasco and Thompson both sit in 11th place among MW players with 13.7 ppg in MW play, while Hansen is in 17th place with 12.5 ppg.Â
CLIMBING THE MW RANKS: Muse enters the contest tied for second place in MW history with 1,081 career boards. The Brentwood, Calif., native is tied with UNLV's Desi-Rae Young and trails Jamie Smith (UNLV; 2008-12) who holds the conference record with 1,145 rebounds.
THE SEARCH FOR 400:Â Assistant coach Heather Sower could pick up her 400th career victory as an assistant coach on Wednesday. The 23-year old sideline veteran, who also donned the Blue and Orange as a player from 1990-94, boasts a 399-310 (56.3%) mark as an assistant coach with the program.Â
