BOISE, Idaho – Lukas Velik's straight-set win at No. 3 singles clinched the match for Boise State as the Broncos defeated Santa Clara 4-1 on Tuesday. It was Boise State's fifth-consecutive victory as the 42nd-ranked Broncos improved to 13-4 overall.

The match was delayed five times because of rain on Monday in Santa Clara, California, and eventually postponed. On Tuesday, it was relocated to San Luis Obispo, California, to complete.

The Battle of the Broncos began with Santa Clara winning the team doubles point 2-0 on Monday afternoon before the rain hit.

Trailing by one entering singles, Boise State struggled through the rain delays on Monday to regroup and catch fire on Tuesday. The Blue and Orange wasted no time taking control of the contest with four consecutive straight-set victories in singles.

Idriss Haddouch started the ball rolling, securing the first win on court five with a 6-0, 6-2 victory. John Chin followed with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles to make the team score 2-1 Boise State.

Jett Middleton – ranked 116th nationally – moved the Broncos within one of victory when he defeated Alex Watanabe Eriksson 6-3, 6-2 on court one, setting up Velik's decisive win on court three. The Freshman from Czechia completed the victory by beating Luca Bluett 6-4, 6-4 to clinch the match for the Blue and Orange Broncos.
