LAS VEGAS – The Boise State women's tennis team lost its fourth match of the season, falling 4-2 to UNLV Friday afternoon.

UNLV opened doubles with a win on court two before Boise State's Maya Dutta and Zdena Safarova evened the doubles matches 1-1 with a 6-4 victory at No. 1 doubles. The Rebels then secured the doubles point with a 7-5 win on court three.

Dutta scored first in singles, defeating UNLV's Veronika Kliuch 6-2, 6-2 on court two. The Rebels then extended their lead to 3-1, but Safarova brought Boise State within one with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 1. UNLV clinched the victory when Coco Zhao defeated Bhakti Shah 6-2, 6-3 on court three.

Notables

Maya Dutta and Zdena Safarova both won their fifth-straight singles match.
Dutta and Safarova improved to 8-2 in doubles this spring and 19-7 overall, tying for the 17th most wins by a pair in a single season.

"We will have to show our resolve to bounce back for Sunday," said head coach Beck Roghaar. "We've obviously been in the hunt in our last two matches but we need to give a little more to get the job done. We understand that and will come out accordingly Sunday."
