SALT LAKE CITY - Boise State beach volleyball finished the weekend 2-1 at the Utah Beach Classic, defeating Oregon and UC Davis and losing to the host school, Utah.

Boise State opened the weekend against Oregon on Friday. Avery Allen and Abbie Wolf took down the Duck's No. 4 pair in straight sets to give the Broncos (14-10, 8-0 SLC) their first point of the weekend, and moments later Allyson Alden and Sharli O'Neil followed suit with a 21-16, 21-17 victory from the No. 2 position. The Ducks responded by winning all three first sets of the second flight. Oregon claimed a point with a straight-set win on court three, but Boise State secured the dual with three-set wins from courts one and five to win 4-1.

Allen and Wolf continued their hot streak against the host school, claiming a straight-set victory to snag the first point of the dual. The Utes answered the call, evening the score at one with a 21-16, 21-18 win from the No. 2 position. Utah claimed the next two points from the No. 1 and No. 3 spots to clinch the win, but Addison Moss and Lily Patock ended the day with a three-set win from court five.

The Broncos looked to respond against UC Davis in the final dual of the weekend on Saturday. Ava Anderson and Addison Wolden secured the squad's first point of the contest with a straight-set win on court two, but the Aggies evened the score with a win from the No. 4 position. Charlee Ellena and Patock helped Boise State retake the lead with a win on court five, while Allen and Wolf secured the win for the Blue and Orange with a win at the No. 3 position.

Quotables
"We knew we were going to have to battle some good opponents in Utah. Oregon played a crafty game but we did a good job of controlling our side and playing a good dual. Utah is a great team that is on a great run. We had some good pairs that played great against the Utes and other pairs that probably wish they had some moments back. We did a good job of responding and battling through some tough elements that we haven't seen in awhile against UC Davis." – head coach Allison Voigt

"We're looking forward to having some time to get back into training. We need to focus on getting better every day, and really learn from the lessons that we have learned the last couple of weeks. The biggest thing we have to do is execute the plan we have for each match. We want to be in control in every match we compete in." - Voigt

What's Next
