BOISE, Idaho – Boise State dropped the opener of a three-game series with No. 15 Stanford, 14-0, Friday night.

The Broncos (28-13) managed just two hits, but were issued five free passes and left eight runners on base.

Stanford (27-8) scored two unearned runs in the first inning and scored in four of the five innings. The Cardinal hit five home runs in the game.

The series continues, Saturday at 2 p.m.

NOTES

Sophia Knight stole her 22nd base of the season to set a Boise State sophomore record.
Mykenzie Hanna collected her 29th-career double to tie for sixth all-time at Boise State.
Hanna was hit by a pitch for the 28th time in her career to increase her school-record number.
