BOISE, Idaho – Sophia Knight and Makenzie Butt each etched their name into the Mountain West record book in a 10-8 loss to San Diego State, Friday.

Knight collected three hits to set Boise State and Mountain West single-season records for hits. The NCAA leader has 91 this season.

Butt drove in four runs to raise her Boise State record to 69 and set the conference freshman record.

The Broncos (29-16, 8-7 MW) spotted the Aztecs (28-15, 11-7) and 8-0 advantage before rallying.

Knight singled in the first run in the third, followed by a run-scoring double by Mykenzie Hanna. Butt drove in a run with a ground out and Sydney Groves capped the rally with an RBI-single.

Butt blasted a two-run home run in the fifth and Grove went back-to-back to cut the deficit to 8-7.

San Diego added two insurance runs in the sixth to make the score 10-7. Butt hammered a one-out home run in the seventh and Groves followed with a walk to get the tying run to the plate. However, the game ended when Leah McAnally grounded into a double play.
