BOISE, Idaho – Boise State scored eight times in the bottom of the fifth and defeated Idaho State, 12-5, Wednesday.

The Broncos (30-17) began their rally when Mykenzie Hanna homered on the first pitch of the inning to tie the game 5-5.

Makenzie Butt reached on an error and took second on a wild pitch. One out later, Leah McAnally knocked in the go-ahead run with a single.

Hollie Farmer and Quinn Southerland contributed back-to-back run-scoring singles to make the score 8-5.

With the bases loaded and two outs, Hanna struck out, but reached on a wild pitch that allowed another run to come home. Butt plated two runs with a single and Hanna scored from second on a wild pitch to cap the rally.

Boise State travels to San Jose State for a three-game Mountain West series, Friday-Sunday.

NOTES

Makenzie Butt became the 12th freshman in NCAA history with 20 home runs and 70 RBI.
Mykenzie Hanna homered for the 50th time in her career.
Brooklynn Pettis homered for the second-straight game.
