Shields Adds Two Transfers for 2025-26 Campaign

BOISE, Idaho – Luke Shields, Boise State Men's Tennis Head Coach, announced today the addition of two transfers for the upcoming year. Joining the Broncos are Stewart Aronson from Clemson and Avery Tallakson from New Mexico, who will be juniors.

"We are thrilled about both additions, Avery and Stewart," said Shields. "They both bring with them a standard of excellence in the classroom and on the court. Avery comes from a fantastic family. He brings a lot of maturity to the table. He was the MVP of the conference tournament (Mountain West) this past year. He is the ultimate team player.

"Stewart, we have followed his success from the juniors. He has a great work ethic, is competitive, and is ambitious about accomplishing his goals. Avery and Stewart are team players and will buy into this brotherhood. They will also bring some leadership qualities to this team. They both love the game and have fantastic attitudes. The future is bright!"

Aronson comes to Boise State after two seasons at Clemson, where he had a combined singles record of 28-22 and a doubles mark of 25-17. The native of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, was a two-time Canadian junior national outdoor singles champion in 2018 and 2019 and reached the doubles final in 2019. He also won both the singles and doubles titles at the 2019 Canadian junior national indoor championships.

Tallakson is transferring to Boise State from Mountain West rival New Mexico, where he played for two seasons. The native of Danville, California, compiled a 35-17 singles record and a 30-22 doubles mark. This past spring, he went 17-2 at No. 6 singles and 13-5 at No. 3 doubles. He also went a combined 4-0 against the Broncos in two duals. In three matches at the MW Championship, he went a combined 6-0 (3-0 in singles and 3-0 in doubles), earning tournament MVP recognition and all-tournament honors in both singles and doubles.
