BOISE, Idaho – The Boise State men's tennis team opened the fall season with a busy schedule this weekend that saw the Broncos competing at three tournaments: the Dar Walters Classic in Boise, the Battle in the Bay Classic at San Francisco, and the Blue-Gray National Tennis Classic at Montgomery, Alabama.

In Boise at the annual Dar Walters Classic, four Broncos took part in the mini-dual format tournament. Mini-duals are when two players are paired up to compete as a team, playing one doubles and two singles matches against another two-person team.

The tandem of Adama Duda and Michael Seversen lost their opening match, then regrouped to win the Orange Draw consolation title, going 3-0 in their final three contests. Duda finished the tournament undefeated in singles at 4-0, while Seversen went 2-2. Carson Baker finished the weekend 3-1 in singles while his partner, Lukas Velik, went 2-2.

The Blue-Gray National Tennis Classic in Montgomery, Alabama, featured a mini-dual format, with four Broncos competing at the prestigious tournament. Senior Taiyo Kurata led the four-man contingent in Montgomery, going undefeated in singles play at 3-0.

The Battle in the Bay Classic had two Broncos competing in the prominent tournament at San Francisco. Filip Soderqvist recorded a pair of quality singles victories, rallying to beat Cal's Timofey Stepanov in three sets 2-6, 6-2, 6-2, followed by a win over TCU's 88th-ranked and No. 5 seed Roger Pascual Ferra 6-3, 6-7(3), 7-6(2). Avery Tallakson also recorded a pair of wins in San Francisco.
