Broncos Back in ExtraMile Arena to Host Quad Meet

WHAT'S NEXT: Boise State will compete at home for the first time in 2026, hosting Mountain West foes Air Force and Utah State, as well as nonconference opponent Sacramento State. The quad meet will start at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 30 in ExtraMile Arena.

SCOUTING AIR FORCE: Air Force will travel to Boise State one week after hosting the Broncos, winning the quad meet with a season-high score of 195.225. All-around champion Maggie Slife won the bars and floor titles, placing her atop the conference rankings in both events. Alyssa Bigler shared the all-around title with Slife and won the beam crown. Slife currently ranks 11th in the NCAA in the all-around (39.367) and 17th on bars (9.892). Boise State holds an 11-2 advantage over the Falcons in the all-time series, including a 5-0 mark at home.

SCOUTING UTAH STATE: Utah State enters with the Mountain West's highest scoring average (195.663), ranking them 26th in the NCAA. The Aggies rank in the top-30 in all four events, including 18th on bars (48.963). Sydney Kelen (9.819), Mya Witte (9.806) and Alianna Valdez (9.781) hold the league's top-three averages on beam and Olivia Orengo ranks second in the all-around (39.100). Utah State is Boise State's most common opponent, with Friday marking the teams' 121st meeting. The Broncos trail the all-time series, 59-60-1, but hold a 46-6-1 record under Tina Bird.

Sydney Kho won the vault title with a career-high 9.825, her second-career event title. Kylee Hamby tied for second on bars at 9.800 and Blake Pascal earned a share of third with a 9.825 on floor. Hamby and Pascal have led the Broncos in their respective events in all three meets this season, posting a 9.800 or higher on every routine.

She is the first Boise State freshman to win an all-around title since 2017 (Courtney McGregor) and first Bronco to secure a MW Specialist of the Week award this year. Her all-around score is the program's highest since 2021 (Hope Masiado).

From 1990-2007, she was an assistant coach for Boise State. Bird was a gymnast at Boise State from 1986-89, holding the school's floor record for four years. In her 36 years on staff, Boise State has produced 34 NCAA Regional appearances, 15 conference titles and 13 All-Americans. Bird has earned the conference coach of the year eight times, including the last two awards in the Mountain West.

Also coming back for the Broncos are two All-MW floor selections. First-team honoree Blake Pascal returns for her fifth year and second-team honoree Bridget Kemp is back for her sophomore campaign.
