BOISE, Idaho – Boise State's Cole Rueck and Gavyn Knight will compete in the 2026 Genesis Invitational Collegiate Showcase, taking place on Feb. 16 at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
Â
First held in 2015, the collegiate showcase provides a unique opportunity for a golfer to play their way into a PGA Tour event. This year's individual champion will earn an exemption into the 2026 Corales Puntacana Championship, which will be held July 16-19, 2026, in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
Â
Featuring 18 golfers, Rueck and Knight will participate for the second-consecutive year. In 2025, Boise State was 1-of-3 collegiate institutions with multiple competitors, joining Wake Forest and Washington.
Â
Making showcase history, Rueck successfully defended his 2024 title and became the first two-time winner, carding a 3-under-par 69 and earned a one-shot victory. Finishing fifth in the 12-person field, Knight recorded a 75 in the competition.
Â
The year prior, the Genesis Collegiate Showcase needed extra holes to decide a winner, as Rueck was tied atop the standings with a 71 (E) after 18 holes. In the playoff, Rueck knocked in a seven-foot putt, bested Petr Hruby (Washington) and claimed victory.
Â
After a successful 2025 fall slate in which Boise State men's golf posted a 49-31-2 record, the Broncos are set to officially open their spring season later this month. The team will play in the Lake Las Vegas Invitational, a three-day tournament running from Feb. 23-25.
