WHAT'S NEXT: Boise State will compete in a road dual at No. 15 California on Saturday, March 7. The Broncos and Golden Bears will meet at 5 p.m. MT, competing at Haas Pavilion in Berkeley, California.

SCOUTING CALIFORNIA: California enters the weekend ranked 15th in the nation with an NQS of 196.539. The Golden Bears are strongest on bars, posting a 49.296 NQS that ranks 10th in the NCAA. Freshman Tonya Paulsson ranks fourth in the nation in bars NQS (9.930) and 13th in the country in the all-around (39.375). Geralen Stack-Eaton is in her first season as the team's head coach after spending 11 years as an assistant coach for Minnesota.

SEASON-BESTS IN SAN JOSE: On March 1, Boise State swept a road quad at San Jose State, posting a season-high 196.275 while adding season-best scores on vault (49.150) and floor (49.275). Julia Krzywanski (vault) and Blake Pascal (floor) each scored a 9.900 on their respective routines to earn a share of the event title for the first time this year. It was Krzywanski's first-career win and Pascal's fifth.

FLOURISHING ON FLOOR: Boise State had its best rotation of the season at San Jose State, posting a 49.275 on floor. Blake Pascal led the way with a 9.900, sharing the event crown. Anna Ferguson (9.875), Delaney Reeves (9.850) and Kristina Shchennikova (9.825) all tallied career-best routines, while Miraya Nero added her second-best score of the year at 9.825. This was the Broncos' highest floor score since March 14, 2025.

BIG SCORES ON VAULT: The Broncos secured their quad meet sweep with a season-best 49.150 on vault, their best score since Feb. 28, 2025. Julia Krzywanski captured her first event title with a career-high 9.900, while Noelle Ball added a career-best 9.850. Bridget Kemp matched her career-high with a 9.825 and Sydney Kho tallied a 9.800.

CONFERENCE AWARD WINNER: Blake Pascal earned Mountain West Co-Floor Specialist of the Week honors following her 9.900 routine and event crown at San Jose State. This is the first weekly conference award of the fifth year's career. Her 9.900 equaled her career-high and marked her 14th-career floor score of 9.850 or higher. She is the third Bronco to earn a conference award this season and fifth to do so in her career. With her honor, the Broncos have five MW weekly awards in 2026.

Mahleea Werline led the way with a season-high 9.850, with Carly Buell and Noelle Ball tallying season-bests of their own at 9.825. Kristina Shchennikova added another 9.825, then Kylee Hamby rounded out the rotation with a 9.725. This was the first time the Broncos scored 9.825 or better on four bars routines since the 2025 Mountain West Championships.

THREE WEEKLY AWARDS: Following their performances at the Feb. 15 Metroplex Challenge, Miraya Nero and Kristina Shchennikova were named Mountain West Co-Beam Specialists of the Week, with Nero adding MW Co-Freshman of the Week. Nero has three MW weekly awards this season, most on the team. This was Shchennikova's first weekly honor of the year and ninth of her career, with four of those being MW Beam Specialist of the Week.

FANTASTIC FRESHMAN: Miraya Nero was also named Mountain West Co-Freshman of the Week after her Jan. 16 performance at BYU, where she won the all-around crown with a 39.075 and tied for second on beam with a 9.825. She posted a career-high 9.850 on floor in the Jan. 30 home quad and was the vault runner-up at the Metroplex Challenge on Feb. 15, scoring 9.850. At Utah State, she captured her second all-around crown, becoming the first Boise State freshman to win two all-around titles since 2017 (Courtney McGregor). At San Jose State (March 1), she earned a career-high 9.800 on bars and notched the program's best all-around score (39.125) since 2021 (Hope Masiado).

KRISTINA KEEPS IT GOING: Kristina Shchennikova won a share of the bars title in Boise State's Feb. 6 quad, recording a 9.875. It gave the sophomore her first-career win on the apparatus. She has four overall wins in her career, posting three on beam last season. She is the only gymnast on the Boise State roster with a title in multiple events in her career. On March 1 at San Jose State, she tallied a 9.825 on beam to tie for second and added a career-high 9.825 on floor.

LOCAL LEGENDS: Freshmen and Meridian, Idaho natives Isabella Delarosa and Sydnie Whipple have made an early impact on their hometown team. Delarosa competed at home for the first time on Jan. 30, scoring 9.825 on beam to earn a share of the event title, the first of her career. The following week, she posted a career-high 9.800 on vault, Boise State's highest score in the Feb. 6 home quad. Whipple earned a 9.800 on beam in her second-career routine at the Feb. 20 dual at Utah State.

KHO-BOOM: Senior Sydney Kho captured her first vault title of the year and second of her career at Air Force on Jan. 23, tallying a season-high 9.825. On March 1, she led the team on beam with a 9.825, tying for second in the quad. The senior has appeared in Boise State's vault lineup in all but two meets since joining the Broncos, completing 43 routines on the apparatus.

PACK THE X: Boise State set a single-meet attendance record in the Jan. 30 home opener, announcing a record-breaking crowd of 2.986. The Broncos followed with a crowd of 2,667 on Feb. 6, giving them an average home attendance of 2,827, which is on pace to shatter the current record of 2,196, set in 2025.

CHAMPIONSHIP STAGE: One season after winning the inaugural Mountain West Championships, Boise State won the 2025 MW regular season crown. The Broncos had the league's top NQS on bars (49.240), beam (49.080) and floor (49.105) last year. This season, the Broncos will host the Mountain West Championships in ExtraMile Arena. The championship meet is set for 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 21.

BIRD BACK WITH THE BRONCOS: Head coach Tina Bird is in her 19th season at the helm, serving as co-head coach from 2008-19 before becoming the lone head coach in 2020. From 1990-2007, she was an assistant coach for Boise State. Bird was a gymnast at Boise State from 1986-89, holding the school's floor record for four years. In her 36 years on staff, Boise State has produced 34 NCAA Regional appearances, 15 conference titles and 13 All-Americans. Bird has earned the conference coach of the year eight times, including the last two awards in the Mountain West.
