LAS VEGAS – Boise State men's tennis delivered a dominant performance, sweeping New Mexico in the quarterfinal of the 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Championship.
With the win, Boise State (21-8, 4-3 MW) advances to its fourth-consecutive semifinal appearance, while New Mexico closes its season at 8-16 (2-5 MW).
The Broncos jumped to an early lead by claiming the doubles point with victories on two courts. Carson Baker and Avery Tallakson opened with a 6-4 win over Alberto Perez and Jakub Prachar on court one. Idriss Haddouch and Taiyo Kurata followed with another 6-4 result on court three, defeating Connor Dils and Tyler Waddock to secure the point.
In singles play, Lukas Velik extended the lead with a decisive 6-4, 6-1 win on court five. Kurata then added a 7-6 (5), 6-0 victory, giving Boise State a 3-0 advantage. Stewart Aronson sealed the sweep, defeating Philip Bosin 6-3, 6-3 on court two.
