Broncos Close Road Stretch at Air Force Before Returning for Home Finale

WHAT'S NEXT: The Boise State women's tennis team will travel to USAFA, Colorado, to face Air Force on April 10 at 10 a.m. MT. The Broncos will then return home for their final home match against New Mexico on April 12 at 11 a.m. at the Appleton Tennis Center.

EYES ON THE PRIZE: The Boise State women's tennis team enters the weekend in a three-way tie for first place in the MW standings. If the Broncos go 2-0 this weekend, while UNLV and San Diego State both go 0-2, Boise State would clinch the regular-season title.

SCOUTING THE FALCONS: Air Force has won two consecutive matches and enters at 9-11 overall, 6-2 in the Mountain West and fourth in the league standings. The Broncos are 10-4 all-time against the Falcons and earned a 4-3 victory last April.

SCOUTING THE LOBOS: New Mexico comes to Boise with a 3-6 road record. The Lobos are 12-9 overall and 3-5 in MW competition and will play Utah State on April 10. This will be the 30th all-time meeting between the programs. Boise State defeated New Mexico 4-3 on April 11, 2025, but trails the all-time series 11-18.

ONE OF ONE: Head coach Beck Roghaar (2011-present) became the program's all-time winningest coach with his 182nd career victory, surpassing Mark Tichenor (1999-2010) in the win against Gonzaga on Feb. 28. He enters the weekend with 191.

MW WEEKLY AWARDS: Zdena Safarova earned her fifth and sixth career MW Player of the Week honors on March 18th and 25th following strong performances against Colorado State, Wyoming, Grand Canyon and San Diego State. Her six awards are most among active players in the conference. Carla Grignac also earned MW Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week honors on Jan. 28 after a win at the No. 6 singles position against nationally ranked Washington. She became the third player in MW history and the second in program history to earn both honors in the same week.

DEFENDING MW CHAMPS: The Broncos claimed their first conference tournament championship since 2010 by winning the 2025 MW Tournament. Boise State defeated Fresno State, San Diego State and UNLV en route to the MW title.

COACH OF THE YEAR: Roghaar, in his 16th season at the helm, was named MW and ITA Mountain Region Coach of the Year for the 2024-25 season. The former marked his third conference Coach of the Year honor, while the latter was the first regional recognition of his career, making him just the second coach in program history to receive the award.

IN THE RECORD BOOK: Safarova holds the fourth-most career No. 1 singles wins (31). Gayleen McManus holds the program record with 50 wins at the top singles spot from 1994-98.
