Three Broncos to Compete at ITA All-American Championships

WHAT'S NEXT
Boise State men's tennis will kick off its fall competitions in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-American Championships, Sept. 19-27.

REPRESENTING BOISE STATE
The ITA selected Stewart Aronson, Arsene Pougault and Filip Soderqvist. All three Broncos will be in the prequalifying singles draw. Aronson, a senior from Vancouver, B.C., was named to the Mountain West All-Conference Singles team in the 2026 spring season. He also recorded a 24-14 record in singles and a 19-12 record in doubles. Pougault, a junior transfer from Arkansas, competed at the No. 5 position in the spring season and recorded a 2-2 doubles mark in the fall. Soderqvist, a sophomore from Norrtaljie, Sweden, earned MW Freshman of the Week three times last season and was named the ITA Mountain Region Rookie of the Year.

BOISE STATE AT ITA ALL-AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIPS
The last time Boise State competed in the ITA All-American Championships was Sam Sippel in 2023 where he lost in the main draw but picked up two wins and one loss in the consolation draw. The Broncos have had 12 student-athletes compete in the singles and five doubles teams compete at the ITA All-American Championships. This is the first time three Boise State student-athletes have been selected to compete in the same year.

HEAD COACH SUCCESS
As a student-athlete for Boise State, head coach Luke Shields competed in the ITA All-American Championships for four-consecutive years in the main draw and three times in the doubles draw. Since becoming the head coach of the program, Shields has coached one student-athlete, Sippel, in the ITA All-American Championships.

PATH TO THE MAIN DRAW
Aronson, Pougault and Soderqvist will all compete in the pre-qualifying singles round of 160 on Sept. 19. Sept. 20 will be a singles round of 80 followed by a round of 40. The next step is the qualifying round on Sept. 21 and 22 with singles rounds of 64 and 32. The main draw will begin on Sept. 23 with a round of 64 and will eventually come down to the singles final on Sept. 27.

ON THE LINE
The Blue and Orange have a chance to qualify for the NCAA Singles Championships. Ten singles players will qualify with eight main draw quarterfinalists and two feed-in consolation finalists.

DRAWS
The ITA Men's All-American Championships has a draw size in singles of 160 in prequalifying, 64 in qualifying and 64 in the main draw. Draws can be found here.
