Broncos Polish Passing Attack

BOISE, Idaho – Charles Anderson of Council will not be stacking his 200 pounds under line scrimmages Friday evening when Boise Junior College plays Gooding College at Public School Field. He will be in the backfield slinging passes.
Â
Ability as a ball tosser was uncovered in the first workout this week. Coach Max Eiden does not mean to let it go to waste.
Â
"There is a boy who can pass like nobody's business," Eiden said. "His hand wraps around the ball so far he can grip it like an ax handle. When he cuts loose the ball goes a long way in a hurry. He can throw them 70 yards if he spits on his hands and tries."
Â
Need More Rabbits
Â
Banking on an accurate performance by his new star who has been doing duty in the obscurity of tackle for three weeks, Eiden is working his Foreign Legion for an aerial bombardment of the Gooding Methodists. Boise Junior College slammed them by a margin of four touchdowns early in the season.
Â
Lateral passes with fancy trimmings may be tried Friday if the home club gets a safe lead. Otherwise, Eiden said, nothing more elaborate than an old fashioned forward will be attempted.
Â
Thursday afternoon the squad will go to the desert again with shotguns to replenish the supply of rabbit feet, battered and misplaced in the battle last week with Lewiston Normal. The Broncos credit their 21-to-0 victory partly to the fact that each player carried a rabbit foot. The lucky tokens will be carried throughout the season.
