Six Broncos Earn NFCA Academic Award

LOUISVILLE, Ky.-The National Fastpitch Coaches Association named six Boise State student-athletes as 2012 All-America Scholar Athletes. Three Broncos repeated the honor from 2011.

The following members of the 2012 Boise State softball team were recognized for their work in the classroom during the past academic year: Ashley Collier, Katie Engelbrecht, Megan Harvey, Jordan Kreiger, Mackenzie Whyte and Aubray Zell.

Harvey, Whyte and Zell were also NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes in 2011. Collier earned the honor in 2010.

The award is given to softball student-athletes achieving at least a 3.5 grade-point average for the 2011-12 academic year.

Boise State's 2013 season begins Feb. 8, at the Kajikawa Classic in Tempe, Ariz.
