BOISE, Idaho (AP)
– Boise State used an 18-0 run spanning from the end of the first half to the beginning of the second to dismantle Jackson State, 70-53, Friday night at Taco Bell Arena.

RJ Williams scored 18 on 7-of-9 shooting and Zach Haney had 12 points and 12 rebounds for the second double-double of his career to lead the Broncos.

Boise State (1-1) needed a strong close to the game, as well, scoring 14-straight points capped by Justinian Jessup's dunk that made it 66-48 with 2:58 left to play. The Tigers (0-3) missed nine-straight shots from the field during that run.

Jackson State had an 11-0 run in the first half and led 27-16 before Boise State went on their 18-0 run that extended into the second half. The Broncos pushed the lead to double digits on Jessup's 3-pointer that made it 41-31, but the Tigers twice cut the deficit to four.

Derrick Alston had a career-high 14 points and Jessup scored 11 for Boise State.

Venjile Wallis scored 21 on 9-of-11 shooting and Chris Howell had 10 points and 10 rebounds for Jackson State.

Boise State will now embark on a five-game road trip away from Taco Bell Arena with the Cayman Islands Classic (Nov. 19-21) followed by true road games at Drake (Nov. 27) and Grand Canyon (Dec. 1).

The Broncos will open the Cayman Islands Classic, Monday, Nov. 19 with a 5:30 p.m. MT tip against Creighton.
