Six of the seven schools ahead of Boise State are ranked in the top 50 nationally, with West Virginia just outside at No. 51. Washington, ranked 18th, leads the tournament at 27-under (266). The Huskies are followed by No. 5 Oklahoma (-26), No. 23 UCLA (-25), No. 37 Liberty (-24), No. 31 South Carolina and West Virginia (-22), No. 44 Kansas (-20) and the Broncos. Rounding out the top are No. 19 Georgia (-16) and No. 15 Clemson (-11).
"It was another solid day as a team," Boise State head coach Dan Potter said. "Everyone is contributing. A couple of shots each round have cost us, but if we can clean that up tomorrow, I believe we have a great day ahead of us. The plan will be to keep the foot on the gas."
Sophomore Hugo Townsend played 3-under over his final-six holes to post a 2-under 69. The Boden, Sweden native is tied for 10th at 7-under (66-69-135).
