BOISE, Idaho - Boise State started the 2019-20 season with a 126-49 win Tuesday, against Life Pacific at ExtraMile Arena. The 126 points are the most in program history, breaking a nearly-50-year-old record, and the 77-point margin of victory set an all-time mark.
The Broncos (1-0) used a 30-0 run early in the first half to seize control of the game, eventually taking a 69-23 lead into halftime. Their 69 points at the break are the most in a single half since at least the 1985-86 season.
Boise State finished with 126 points, breaking the previous record of 118 set Jan. 25, 1971, against Portland State. The 126 points are the third-most in Mountain West history.
Seven different Broncos scored in double figures, led by Derrick Alston, Jr.'s 25. All five starters hit double digits, as well as freshmen RayJ Dennis (14) and Max Rice (12) off the bench in their collegiate debuts.
RJ Williams posted the first double-double of his Boise State career, with 17 points and a career-high 14 rebounds. Alex Hobbs scored all 14 of his points in the first half, before tallying five of his career-high seven assists after halftime.
Boise State hits the road for the first time this season Saturday, at No. 15 Oregon. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. PT/9 p.m. MT, and will be televised on Pac-12 Network.
