Broncos rally for 10-inning win, come-from-behind victory on day two of the Stacy Winsberg Memorial Tournament
The wins improve Boise State to 5-2 on the season, and extend the team's winning streak to four games.
"I'm so proud of the team effort to win both games today," head coach Maggie Livreri said. "It was great to see the fight and grit today."
LMU RECAP
The day began with a 10-inning marathon for the Boise State, one they ended up on the right side of. The Broncos got a two-out, walk-off double from Bradie Fillmore to bring two runners home for the 9-8 victory in the bottom of the 10th.

Needing one out to secure a win over Loyola Marymount (5-1) to open the day, Boise State saw their 4-1 lead slip away due to a three-run home run from Maddison Flores. The Broncos were unable to score in the bottom-half of the seventh, sending the game to extra innings for the first time this season for Boise State.
Because it was a non-conference game, the international tie-breaker rule – each inning starts with a runner on second base – went into effect. The Lions scored twice in the top of the eighth to take a 6-4 lead.
With Karlee Johnson placed on second, Kora Wade hit a leadoff single to put runners on the corners with no outs to start the bottom of the inning. The next two batters for Boise State were both putout, but a two RBI single from Jessica McKay tied the game at 6-6.
McKay finished the game 3-for-4 at the plate, batting in four runs.

Fillmore was walked to put the winning run on second, but the Broncos were unable to capitalize, sending the game to the ninth inning.
Neither team scored in the ninth inning, sending Boise State into the 10th inning for only the fourth time in program history. Loyola Marymount score twice in the top of the inning thanks to a leadoff home run.
In a two-run hole, the Broncos' first two batters both hit fly balls into the outfield for two outs. With Johnson again on second, Rebekah Cervantes singled into right center, giving Johnson just enough time to make it a one-run game.
On the next at-bat, McKay drew a walk on a 3-1 count to put the winning run on first. Fillmore would double along the left field line, giving just enough time for both Cervantes and McKay to score the deciding runs.
This was the first extra-innings win over a non-conference opponent for the Broncos since a 5-4 victory in eight innings over Loyola Marymount in the 2016 season (Feb. 26).
Gianna Mancha got the win for Boise State, with all 2.2 innings of her innings of action coming in the eighth and beyond. The sophomore allowed only one earned run and two hits, while striking out two. Kelsey Broadus started the game for the Broncos, striking out six batters while allowing only one earned run in 5.0 innings.
LONG BEACH STATE RECAP
Boise State didn't have the opportunity to bask in celebration of their walk-off win. 30 minutes later, the team was back on the field to close the night against Long Beach State (3-5).
The game was called due to darkness in the top of the seventh inning. Because the game was through at least five innings, it reverted back to the conclusion of the last complete inning (the end of the sixth), giving Boise State the 4-3 win.

The 49ers jumped to an early 3-0 lead in the first inning, recording three hits in the first frame. They wouldn't score again, as Kelsey Broadus tossed 6.0 innings, and allowed only one hit over the final five innings.
Boise State got on the scoreboard thanks to a solo home run from Serena Huchingson – the first hit of her college career – in the top of the third inning. Alison Seng and Karlee Johnson both batted in runs on singles in the top of the fourth to tie the game at 3-3.

In the top of the fifth inning, Wade tripled into deep right field to put a runner in scoring position with no outs. During the next at-bat, a wild pitch would give Wade plenty of time to score the deciding run.
In addition to out-hitting Long Beach State (6-4), Boise State's defense capitalized by forcing the 49ers to strand four runners on base in the game.
