Albuquerque, N.M. – The Boise State track and field teams opened the weekend with a sweep of the distance medley relays, and capped the weekend with a sweep of the 3000m races.

Addison Dehaven won the first Mountain West title of his career, while Allie Ostrander took control of the women's race entering the bell lap to win the event, to highlight the 2019 Mountain West Indoor Track and Field Championships. The men's team finished sixth (55 points), while the women finished fifth (62 points)

Dehaven won in a wire-to-wire effort after taking third in the event last year. Andrew Rafla paced him through the first 1600m before stepping off the track. Dehaven was able to maintain his lead, eventually winning by over five seconds in 8:12.46.

Miler Haller scored a point for Boise State thanks to his eighth-place finish (8:24.72).

In the women's race, Ostrander took control of the race, passing New Mexico's Charlotte Prouse entering the final lap and held strong over the final 200 meters to win the sixth Mountain West title of her career. Emily Venters (9:23.00) and Clare O'Brien (9:39.72) also scored for Boise State, placing fifth and seventh, respectively.

Ostrander's time of 9:11.61 is a Mountain West Championship meet record.

Boise State was able to pick up a whopping 14 points in the women's mile thanks to a 2-3 finish by Ostrander (4:41.38) and Alexis Fuller (4:42.11). The two went out with New Mexico's Weini Kelati, who set a Mountain West championship record by five-seconds. Fuller was able to put together a strong final lap to finish right behind Ostrander.

Bryce Kirby scored nine points for the Blue and Orange thanks to fourth-, and fifth-place finishes in the 60m and 200m, respectively. Kirby overcame a bad start in the shorter event to finish fourth in 6.87. He came back to finish nearly stride-for-stride with teammate David Pierce in the 200m. Kirby finished fifth in 2.78, while Pierce was sixth in 21.79.

Jose Rubio also scored points for Boise State in the sprints, taking fifth in the 400m (49.51).

The team of Rubio, Kirby, Pierce and Ryan Cavinta also took fourth in the 4x400 relay (3:17.40).

In the field events, Taj Dorsett and Abi Dargan finished in unison in the women's triple jump. Both placed fifth in 39-6.75 (12.06m). The mark is a personal best for both. Justin Stattner also took fourth in the men's pole vault, clearing 16-0.5 (4.90m)

Rafla kicked off the day for Boise State, taking ninth in the final of the men's mile. The redshirt senior came within 3-hundreths of a second of scoring with an  eighth-place finish.
