BOISE, Idaho — Following six-straight weeks on the road, the Boise State softball team will play in front of the home crowd at Dona Larsen Park for the first time in 2019 this weekend. The Broncos (21-4) will host San Diego State in a Mountain West series, Friday-Saturday.
Due to rain in the forecast, the schedule for this series was changed to a doubleheader on Friday (1:30 p.m./4 p.m. MT), and a 1 p.m. game on Saturday. Boise State will also unveil the program's conference championship banner prior to the start of the opening game of the series.Â
PARKING:Â Limited parking at Dona Larsen Park will be available for $5 a car all three games of the weekend. Fans are also able to purchase spots for the entire weekend for the same rate.
Free parking will be available in the East Lot of Albertsons Stadium for Friday's doubleheader. A complimentary shuttle will take fans to and from Dona Larsen Park for free. For Saturday's game, free parking will be available in the parking lot of the URS Building at 720 E. Park Blvd. Fans wishing to park in the lot must enter the lot from the Front Street entrance, heading West.Â
A shuttle will not be offered from the URS lot on Saturday.
TICKETS AND PROMOTIONS:Â Tickets will be $6 for adults and $4 for children (2-17) and seniors (65+). Students with a valid Boise State ID card will receive free admission. Fans are also encouraged to buy a Bronco Sports Pass for $75. The pass will grant entry to all volleyball, soccer, women's basketball, gymnastics, track and field, and softball events.

SERIES HISTORY:Â Boise State trails the all-time series against San Diego State, 7-11. In the seven years that the Broncos have been a member of the Mountain West, the program has only claimed the series against San Diego State three times (2012-13, 2018). Last season in San Diego, Boise State claimed the series victory over the Aztecs, with back-to-back wins to close out the weekend.
SCOUTING REPORT:Â The Aztecs are vastly improved from their 2018 season. At 14-14 on the year, San Diego State is on pace to post an improvement on last season's 20-31 record. Taylor Adams (.351) leads four players in the lineup who have posted a batting average over .300 this season. Her 13 RBI is tied for first on the team, while the roster has combined for 35 extra-base hits.
In the circle, San Diego State has spread the innings evenly among the trip of Marissa Moreno (65.1), Alicia Garcia (52.0) and MJ James (60.2). The staff has combined for 113 strikeouts six weeks into the season.
ROAD WARRIORS:Â 25 games into the season, and Boise State has yet to play a single game at the friendly confines of Dona Larsen Park. With a 21-4 record to their name, the Broncos are tied for first in wins among programs who have yet to play a home game this season. The team's winning percentage of .840 is also second among those programs, trailing on Wisconsin (21-3, .875).
Over the first six weeks of the season, Boise State traveled a round-trip of 10,610.38 miles.
FIRST RPI RELEASED:Â The first RPI of the season was released on March 18. Despite dropping two games to UNLV over the weekend, Boise State was ranked 19th in the first release of the metric used to determine at-large bids to the NCAA tournament. Only Louisiana (18th) was ranked higher when it comes to non-Power 5 program.
As a whole, the Mountain West was ranked as the seventh-best conference in the nation. The conference placed four teams in the top 64 of the initial RPI: Boise State (19th), Colorado State (31st), UNLV (36th), and Fresno State (57th).
TITLE DEFENSE BEGINS:Â The defending Mountain West champions opened conference play with a series loss to UNLV (March 15-17). Boise State dropped the first and third games of the series to the Rebels, for its first Mountain West series since dropping two games to UNLV last season (April 15-17).
